Life’s Abundace supports healthy growth through all stages. After raising many dogs and litters, researching, and trial and error, we have found this dog food to be worth every penny. It is high-quality dog food, meaning you have to feed less.
Life's Abundance can be auto-shipped (giving a discount) to your home!
We recommend you keep your new puppy on the same food for at least 3 months.
We frequently get calls that a recently brought-home puppy is experiencing diarrhea and stomach issues. This can be NORMAL due to the changes the puppy goes through in the first months in a new home. What complicates the issue, though, is changing its food. Changing a dog’s food in general, can result in negative symptoms for up to 2 months, especially in a puppy. Please keep the food the same until the puppy has all vaccines and is stabilized in the home.
Most common situation:
We hear from families who are experiencing puppy diarrhea, who then go to the vet and are put on a different food. Or, we hear from families who change food upon going home (a drastic for a new puppy). Goldens are known for allergies and food sensitivity issues, so the vet typically recommends hypoallergenic food. Though it was recommended by a vet, this is still a change in food for a baby puppy, so this results in 2+ months of ongoing stomach issues, usually during which the family tries another type of food, thus increasing the negative cycle.
Please remember, the puppy was doing great at Front Porch Goldens on this dog food, so changing the puppy’s food should be a last resort (not on a whim or to “try it out”) and the family should realize that with each food change, they are committing to 2+ months of increased stomach issues before knowing if the new food is working well.
Our first recommendation is always high-quality dog food. Second, we recommend two main supplements one for their developing hips/joints, and one for their skin and coats.
The Agility Formula from Life's Abundance supports healthy hips, elbows, and joints. Goldens and Goldendoodles are notorious for arthritis and mobility issues as they age; we think it's imperative to start our dogs on supplements while they are developing.
The Skin & Coat Formula has significantly reduced shedding in our Goldens. This supplement makes their coats shiny and plush with noticeably less shedding!
We love this shampoo for our dogs! We use small amounts for our puppies during their first baths. Goldens can have dry, flaky coats, and we've found that good shampoo makes a lot of difference - along with supplements and high-quality dog food!
Life's Abundance has a large line of awesome products for your puppy, family, and even cats! We love all of these but especially recommend their dog food, coat, and joint supplements.
